I went to see Darren Criss in Nashville with my cousin. First, I went to pick her up in Bowling Green. However, I pulled over at a gas station because I was confused by the directions that I had and when I got out of my car I locked my keys in my car. Eventually, my uncle drove my cousin out to where I was and brought several things to try to unlock my car. Fortunately he works on cars. His more legitimate things wouldn’t work on my car and he ended up playing around with a wire hanger for like 40 minutes. It finally worked!
We made it fine to Nashville still with plenty of time to spare. We got there two hours before the concert started and waited in the long-ass line. Hallie and her friend Annie waited in line with us, but we were separated from them after we got inside due to the craziness. My cousin and I were kind of in the middle; it was just a standing room. Then we stood there for an hour until the opening act, Theo Katzman, started. He was actually the drummer when Darren played later.
Eventually, Darren played and it was awesome!! He’s so good live and I loved the concert. He played a good mix of new and old songs. The arrangements they did of his songs were a lot of fun. Also, Chord Overstreet came out and did a surprise performance with Darren. I'll post pictures later. I tried to get a decent picture from every song. It was difficult because of the lighting and a not so great camera.
After the show, we waited in line for merchandise. I ended up buying a shirt and a poster for my cousin, and she got several things. Then, we waited in line to meet Theo Katzman and my cousin got a picture with him.
We decided to wait outside with other people to hopefully meet Darren. I guess he usually goes out after shows for autographs and pictures. He eventually came out after we waited about a hour. He got everyone’s attention to tell us that he wasn’t going to take pictures because he wanted to go see a friend’s show, but he would still do autographs. Everyone was very respectful and not crazy and screaming at him or anything which I was kind of afraid.would happen. We had a really great place in the line. I didn’t have anything for him to sign, but my cousin did. I was really hoping to get a picture with him, but I just took a couple pictures of him as he went by. He was going through pretty quickly signing people’s stuff and I just said “hi” to him pretty excitedly and he looked up and said “hi” back to me. Then I said something like “it’s really nice to meet you” and he moved on. It was pretty great.
We fangirled on the way back to the car. My cousin and I spent the night at our aunt’s house since she lives in Nashville.
We had a really great time. It was so awesome to see him live and actually meet him!!
